Marinated Grilled Steaks

Marinated grilled steaks on table

This easy but tasty recipe from Maple and Mango is packed with flavor. It's best served with a side of potatoes, bread, your favorite salad, or grilled veggies like corn on the cob, peppers, mushrooms, and asparagus.

Make the marinade

This involves whisking together the ingredients of your choice. We recommend the following:

  • 1 small shallot, thinly chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tamari
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • Freshly ground pepper, to taste

Marinade the beef

Marinade the steaks and place them in a Ziploc bag or covered glass dish. They should marinade for an hour at room temperature or 12 hours in the fridge. Before cooking, remove them from the fridge at least 20-30 minutes before beginning.

Prep to Grill

After removing the steaks from the marinade, pat them down with paper towels. Oil the steak and season with salt and pepper.

Get Grilling

Let the grilling with dad begin! Grill the beef according to your personal preference. Be sure to let the steaks rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Pineapple Shrimp Skewers

Pineapple grilled skewer on lettuce

These pineapple shrimp skewers are tasty and healthy! They're perfect to enjoy on Father's Day or as a weeknight dinner treat.

Ingredients needed:

  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 pound large shrimp. Be sure they are thawed and peeled with their tails on
  • 1 pineapple cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 red bell pepper cut into bite-size pieces

Here is the easy-to-follow recipe, courtesy of Salt and Lavender:

Soak Wooden Skewers

This reduces the risk of burning or splintering. Soak them at least 30 minutes before use.

Prep your Veggies and Shrimp

Add the BBQ and honey to a bowl and stir until combined.

Prepare the Skewers

Next, it's time to prepare the skewers. To do this, thread the shrimp, pineapple, and red pepper onto your skewers. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Preheat the Grill to high

Once the grill is ready, reduce heat to medium-high. Grill the skewers for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they're cooked through. After flipping them, reapply the delicious sauce for an extra burst of flavor.

Mexican Grilled Corn

Isn't grilled corn just the perfect summer side dish? We think so! We love this recipe from The Cookie Rookie. It pairs well with tender chicken burgers, fried chicken wings and of course, family taco night at home!

You'll need:

  • 8 ears of Corn shucked with the silks removed
  • 1/4 cup light sour cream
  • 1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese, plus 3/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese for garnishing
  • 1/2 ounce Taco Seasoning
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon flake sea salt
  • Olive Oil Spray for grilling
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro for garnishing
  • 1 lime cut into wedges for garnishing

Once you've gathered your ingredients, follow these easy recipe instructions:

Prepare the Corn

Start by lightly spraying or brushing the corn with olive oil

Get Grilling

Grill the corn for roughly 10 minutes or until it is cooked through. To avoid burning, make sure to turn them often.

Prepare the Sauce

While the corn is grilling, prepare your sauce by mixing together the Greek Yogurt, Sour Cream, grated parmesan, taco seasoning, lime juice, and salt. Set aside in a small bowl

Apply the Sauce

When the corn is ready, remove it from the grill and generously lather it in the mixture you just made.

Garnish it

Sprinkle each ear of corn with toppings of your choice: cilantro, shredded parmesan, and an extra squeeze of lime juice.

Grilled Salmon

Grilled Salmon on Asparagus

Follow this easy grilled salmon recipe from Foodiecrush for a delicious Father's Day meal or a healthy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients you'll need:

  • 4 6-8 ounce skin-on salmon filets. They should be about 1-inch thick.
  • 2 tablespoons grapeseed oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 lemon cut into wedges

Follow this recipe:

Prepare the Grill

Start by heating your grill to 450°F-550°F.

Flavor the Salmon

While the grill is heating up, coat your salmon with oil and evenly season with salt and pepper. Grill the salmon skin side down over direct high heat for about 6-8 minutes. Make sure the lid is closed.

Turn the Salmon Over

Turn the salmon over and cook to 130°F or about 2-4 minutes with the lid closed. Once done, transfer to a plate and let rest for 1-2 minutes. Remove the salmon skin, if desired, and serve with wedges of lemon.

  • 2 1/2 tbsp onion powder
  • 4 tsp black pepper
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar packed
  • 4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tbsp cajun seasoning
  • 2 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp mustard powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Oil cooking spray

Follow this easy recipe from Grandbaby Cakes:

Prepare the grill

To make sure the meat won't stick to the grill, be sure to properly oil the grates

Start Grilling

Once the grill is hot, place the ribs bone side down on the grill over indirect heat. Grill covered for 1 and a half hours. Turn them over and grill them for an additional hour and a half over indirect heat. Check every so often to make sure they aren't burning. After 3 hours, they should be tender.

Brush with BBQ Sauce

Once the ribs are finished cooking, transfer them to direct heat and brush with bbq sauce on both sides. Grill uncovered for 5-10 minutes before removing.
